Washer showing a door or lid lock error?

The washer may be unable to confirm that the door or lid is closed and locked. Never bypass a lock or force the door open.

Safe first checks

1. Remove laundry caught in the door or lid opening.
2. Close the door or lid firmly without slamming it.
3. Inspect the visible latch area for detergent residue or a foreign object.
4. Wait a few minutes after unplugging, then follow the manual's restart guidance.

When to stop

Call a technician if the latch is damaged, the door will not release after water has drained, or the code returns repeatedly.
